The Town Council agreed to take over and fund the Hessle Town Bus service in 2018, following the decision by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council to withdraw all funding.

The Service which runs on a Friday, starts at 09.35 am from Hessle Square and runs until 14.50 pm, picking residents up at various points (hail and ride) around Hessle and then on to Sainsburys and back to The Square. The fare is £1 which helps towards the costs, although passengers can use their bus passes if they wish.

Latest update:

With effect from Wednesday 1st May 2024, the 183 Hessle Town Bus will now run 2 days a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.  This has been made possible with help and funding from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the UK Government.
